Family Fun Spots in Queens:
If you are one of the many people residing in New York City’s largest borough – Queens – you’re going to want to read this. During the upcoming winter months, it may be hard to think of “family fun” places to go. Well, we are here to help! Here are a few fun spots you and your family can check out in Queens. Some won’t even cost you a penny!
- Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge: Located on Cross Bay Blvd., this wildlife refuge is a great spot all year round. Not only is it the home to over 330 species of birds, but it also offers site tours, activities and special events each month. Don’t forget your camera for this month’s event: “Snow Birds in a Winter Wonderland”, January 28th, 2:00-4:00 PM!
- City Ice Pavilion: Located on 47-32 32nd Place, Long Island City. If you’re a resident of Queens and never knew about this rink, don’t be surprised. This “hidden” gem is located in the Long Island City warehouse district. Whether you want to take advantage of their affordable prices during open stake times, or watch an ice hockey game, City Ice Pavilion guarantees a fun time. If you need someplace to store your skates and hockey equipment, we are conveniently located in Long Island City!
- New York Hall of Science: Located at 47-01 111th Street. This hands-on science exhibit is perfect for all ages. Stay warm inside, while you explore all of their 450 interactive exhibits!
- Long Island Children’s Museum: Located at 11 Davis Avenue in Garden City. This interactive museum is perfect for infants to elementary school-age children. Their new exhibit, “Feasts for Beasts” is opening January 6th. Make learning fun for your kids and affordable for you!
