We hope you all enjoyed your holiday decorations this season, but face it: it’s time to take them down. Although it may sound like a good idea to just keep them up all year round, your neighbors may not feel the same way. If you’re a little behind on your agenda, here are a few tips on how to organize and keep all your decorations safe until next year.

• For outside decorations, be sure to wipe them down, so they are in tip-top condition when you pull them out next year.
• When storing your lights, don’t put too many together, so they won’t get tangled in case the boxes get shaken up.
• Never put fragile items on the top or bottom. Having a layer of items above and below allows for padding for your breakable pieces.
• Use plastic bins that stack easily.
• Label your boxes/bins clearly, so that you will know exactly what you’re looking at when you need them again.
• To protect your wreaths from dust, keep them in a plastic garbage bag.
